I embarked on my journey in the tech industry back in 2011, starting with an apprenticeship in East London. Over time, I leveraged these experiences to progressively enhance my skills. After leaving the apprenticeship, I secured a software engineer position at Capgemini, where I dedicated nearly five years to collaborating with a diverse team in Central London. My role involved supporting remote users and managing SQL servers, providing valuable insights into software infrastructure.
However, my desire to broaden my horizons led me to take a temporary hiatus from the tech world to complete my university studies and explore another passion of mine. During this time, I moved to rural Japan to teach English and immerse myself in foreign culture. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience, my passion for technology remained unyielding.
With a renewed focus on my tech aspirations, I made a deliberate shift toward web development. I joined a developer bootcamp with Code Institute to expand my proficiency in web technologies such as JavaScript, Python, and Django, while also gaining exposure to development methodologies and participating in hackathons as part of a collaborative team. This multifaceted journey has allowed me to acquire a diverse skill set and align myself with the path of becoming a proficient full-stack developer.
